The planter sides and base panels are made using the strongest, maximum thickness 18mm MEDITE® TRICOYA® EXTREME Engineered Wood Panels. Both Accoya and Tricoya have exceptional dimensional stability, with minimal expansion or shrinkage than other timbers, this results in paint finishes lasting much longer. We offer the choice of having your planters painted any colour including RAL codes, using premium quality environmentally friendly exterior eggshell paints from Mylands, Little Greene Paint Company or Farrow \u0026amp; Ball.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOur large planters are made using large section timber, with 69mm x 69mm legs \u0026amp; 69mm x 58mm rails, this ensures a strong heavy duty frame, in addition the planter side panels are also fully rebated on all 4 sides.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCustom Size Planters\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOur Versailles planters are made to order, so if you need a bespoke size, we can make the planters exactly to the size you require. This process involves production of drawings for you to confirm and sign off prior to production, this ensures that the planters meet the specifications agreed.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eLarge Planter - Base Construction, Drainage and Irrigation\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePlanter Base, for our large planters we use a base support frame made from Accoya which supports a sectional base, made from 18mm Medite Tricoya Extreme board. These panels are cut to size to allow drainage at all 4 internal corners of the planter base, together with a additional drainage holes along the centre line of the base.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eLiner made from durable and environmentally friendly Butyl liner with a lifetime guarantee.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe liner is fitted for both aesthetic and drainage management purposes, this is fitted around the inner perimeter of the planter, to the full height of the inner side panels and extends 50mm onto the planter base boards. We then fit loose fitting sections of\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ebutyl liner\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eto cover the base, which can be lifted and cut as required to provide adjustment for drainage holes and any irrigation pipes.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eKew Gardens Planter Customisation\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe planters that we made for Kew Gardens included a couple of non standard additions and customisations, including fitting of stainless anchor points to the internal frame to allow fitting of tree anchors plus increasing the height of the lower base rail to allow sufficient height beneath to allow for lifting the planter using a fork lift.
